The Central Weather Administration (CWA) said the system would pass over Taiwan between today and tomorrow morning, bringing steady rains that would later taper off into isolated showers and thunderstorms.

In northern and central Taiwan, as well as Yilan and Hualien counties in the east, there is to be a chance of extreme weather events, such as brief downpours, lightning storms and strong wind gusts, the CWA said.
Daytime high temperatures today are to reach 22°C to 24°C in the north and Yilan, 25°C to 27°C in central Taiwan, and 28°C to 30°C in the south, the agency said.
Overnight lows are to drop to about 16°C in the north, and to 18°C to 21°C in other regions, the agency said.
The CWA also confirmed that hail had fallen in greater Taipei overnight, as a first wave of storms from the system arrived in the area.
The agency initially sent out a notification at 12:31am warning of possible extreme weather, including intense lightning and hail, in Taipei and New Taipei City before 1:30am.
Over the next few hours, residents posted pictures and videos online of pebble-sized hail that had fallen in Taipei's Xinyi (信義), Neihu (內湖), Nangang (南港) and Wenhu (文湖) districts, as well as Sijhih (汐止), Jhonghe (中和) and Sindian (新店) districts in New Taipei City.
The agency confirmed the reports in a follow-up statement this morning, adding that there would continue to be a possibility of hail developing in northern, central and eastern Taiwan through tomorrow morning.
