Morning temperatures across Taiwan remained chilly today, despite a cold front gradually weakening and a lower chance of rainfall throughout the day, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) said.
Across Taiwan, low temperatures remained between 13°C and 16°C, although they are expected to rise to 20°C to 23°C as the day progresses.
Although the chance of rainfall is lower, Keelung’s northern coast and the eastern side of the main island are still likely to see isolated, short-term showers today, the CWA said.

Greater Taipei is likely to see overcast conditions with occasional rainfall, the CWA added.
Taoyuan, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County and Taiwan’s central area, along with Penghu County, may experience some rainfall, although it is expected to decrease during the day, it said.
In the south, there is also a chance of some rain, but the weather is expected to be cloudy in the afternoon and evening, it added.
Kinmen and Lienchiang (Matsu) counties would see cloudy skies, the CWA added.
Although temperatures across much of Taiwan are expected to rise above 20°C, Penghu is likely to see temperatures remain between 14°C and 17°C, Kinmen between 10°C and 18°C and Lienchiang between 9°C and 13°C, it said.
Strong winds are likely in coastal areas between Taoyuan and Yunlin County, as well as on the outlying islands, the CWA said.
People should be careful during beach activities, it added.
At night, cloudy and foggy conditions are likely to affect visibility from Tainan northward, as well as in Kinmen and Lienchiang, the CWA said, adding that drivers should be careful and attentive.

Trump has not personally brought up the “one China” policy in more than a year, National Taiwan University Department of Political Science Associate Professor Chen Shih-min (陳世民)
