The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal from a man sentenced to three years and four months in prison for making minors produce explicit photos and videos of themselves.
The sentence is final and cannot be further appealed.
The man, surnamed Su (蘇), befriended two minors on Facebook, and made them produce explicit photos and videos of themselves in exchange for gaming points from July to September 2022.

He tried to lure a third minor, but she did not comply.
The case was brought to light when one of the victims’ mothers found suspicious dialogue on the child’s social media and reported it to her school and police.
In February last year, Su was found guilty on two counts of contravening the Child and Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Act (兒童及少年性剝削防制條例) and one count of attempting to contravene the act. He was given a prison sentence of three years and four months.
The Taichung District Court said that Su’s actions were detrimental to the minors’ physical and mental development, as well as the cultivation of their values.
In September last year, Su’s appeal was dismissed by the High Court’s Taichung branch, as it found no fault in the district court’s ruling.

Minister of Justice Cheng Ming-chien (鄭銘謙) yesterday authorized the execution of convicted murderer Huang Lin-kai (黃麟凱), the first death row prisoner to be put to death since President William Lai (賴清德) took office.
