The design for this year’s Double Ten National Day celebrations were released today, featuring the red and blue of the Republic of China (ROC) flag, a plum blossom motif, and messages in Chinese and English.
The Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) has in recent years criticized the design for excluding the flag and its colors, and centering the name “Taiwan” rather than the ROC.
As the KMT and its allies won the majority in the legislature earlier this year, Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) has assumed leadership of the National Day Preparatory Committee.

The Facebook page for the Double Ten National Day events updated its imagery this afternoon to the new design.
It primarily utilizes the red and blue of the ROC flag with a plum blossom motif in the center.
Underneath it says “Happy Birthday to the ROC” (中華民國生日快樂) in Chinese with the ROC flag in the middle, and “A Beautiful Taiwan Today, A Better Taiwan Tomorrow” in English.

As opposed to previous years, the design does not say “Taiwan National Day” in English.

The inauguration ceremony for Trump and US vice president-elect JD Vance is to be held inside the Capitol Rotunda, which has a capacity of about 2,000 people. A person familiar with the issue yesterday said although the outdoor inauguration ceremony has been relocated, Taiwan’s legislative delegation has decided to head off to Washington as scheduled.
