Eswatini Prime Minister Russell Dlamini yesterday arrived in Taiwan to look for investors and discuss the details of a fuel storage facility Taiwan is helping to build in the African kingdom, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
“Our trip is basically to strengthen the long-existing relationship between Taiwan and the Kingdom of Eswatini. We look forward to a fruitful visit that should have a lasting outcome,” Dlamini said upon his arrival at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Dlamini is leading a delegation on visits to state-owned oil refiner CPC Corp, Taiwan’s refinery in Taoyuan and CECI Engineering Consultants, who are helping build the fuel storage facility.

Taiwan signed a memorandum of understanding with Eswatini in September last year to help its diplomatic ally build an oil tank that, once completed, is expected to store at least 30 days of oil reserves, Taipei has said.
Dlamini is tomorrow to attend a seminar in Taipei organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and the ministry to pitch for investment in Eswatini, the ministry said in a statement.
Dlamini is visiting Taiwan for the first time since he was appointed prime minister by Eswatini’s King Mswati III on Nov. 3 last year, the ministry said.
It did not say when the delegation would be leaving.
