There will be more opportunities to purchase tickets for a hot-air balloon ride by Kaohsiung’s Love River (愛河), after the first two days of the Kaohsiung Hot-Air Balloon Festival were postponed due to Typhoon Koinu.
After starting at the Tianliao Moon World geological scenic area last month, the festival was scheduled to move to the Love River from tomorrow to Sunday next week.
However, due to continued high winds from Typhoon Koinu, the organizers postponed the opening this weekend and added two more days on Oct. 21 and 22.

To give more people an opportunity to see the picturesque sunrise from above the Love River, more tickets have been added to the 6am to 8am session on Oct. 9, 10, 14, 15, 21 and 22, the Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau said today.
Tickets were to go on sale at 7-Eleven ibon machines at noon today.
Those who have already purchased a ticket for this weekend may go on the corresponding day on Oct. 21 or 22 using the same ticket, or receive a full refund, the bureau said.
The festival is also to feature a mini hot-air balloon light show from 3pm to 9pm every day of the event, as well as a market with food trucks along the riverside.
Also this holiday weekend, the Emerald Knights marching band from Tokyo University of Agriculture Second High School is to perform at the festival on Sunday, while this year’s Takao Rock Festival is to be held at the Kaohsiung Music Center from tomorrow to Monday.
