“For deepening the friendship between Taiwan and South Korea, we are delighted to cooperate with the Korea Times in this transnational media coalition,” Huang said during the videoconference. “This partnership will definitely boost closer ties between these two Asian Tigers.”
Oh added that the Taipei Times would be an “important partner” as the two media organizations work together to exchange resources.
The Korea Times has been partnering with media organizations throughout the Asia-Pacific region and hopes to have 50 organizations on board by the end of the year.
The MOU with the Taipei Times “is the first step to realize a ... global media collaboration [and] realize a new future,” Oh said.
