The non-governmental organization said that the funds would be directed to several cities in Ukraine to increase the availability of medical services in agricultural regions, support social welfare centers, establish a youth center for teenagers and create a professional development center.
The donation was formalized by Representative to Poland Bob Chen (陳龍錦) at a signing ceremony in Warsaw witnessed by National Development Council (NDC) Minister Kung Ming-hsin (龔明鑫), who is leading a 28-member delegation from Taiwan on a tour of Poland, the Czech Republic and France.

After the ceremony, Kung presented 15 laptops the government was donating to Ukrainian students in Poland, while business representatives within the delegation donated an additional 150 laptops, the council said in a statement.
During his time in Warsaw, Kung met with Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education Przemyslaw Czarnek, as well as representatives from Polish universities and research institutes, the council said.
Those who attended the meeting discussed university alliance cooperation, talent nurturing, dual-degree programs and scholarship opportunities, it added.
Kung expressed Taiwan’s willingness to collaborate with Poland to help Ukrainian students, and also extended an invitation to talented international students to further their studies in Taiwan, the council said.
A mooted semiconductor industry cluster in Poland and neighboring European countries could present an opportunity for supply chain collaboration, Kung added.
He said Taiwan’s plan to establish a university alliance would be beneficial in promoting talent cultivation exchanges with Poland and jointly nurturing the talent needed for industrial development.
Kung’s delegation is to return to Taiwan on Wednesday, the council said.
