Seven drink and ice products in Taipei failed food safety inspections, the city’s Department of Health announced on Monday.
As summer approaches, the department is conducting randomized testing of drinks, ice cream and other cold products from shops around the city.
The results released on Monday were from the second batch of testing since last month.

Of the 70 tested, 22 failed an initial test, while seven failed repeated testing for harmful bacteria such as Salmonella and Escherichia coli, it said.
The products were jasmine green tea (without ice) from the Tianjin Street location of Ching Yuan Taro Balls (清原芋圓); baozhong tea from Sun Woo Tea (珊瑚橘); Hokkaido milk-flavored ice cream from the Chongqing S Road location of Ro Do Do Hot Pot (肉多多); Alishan tea from the Shipai Road location of Ji Long Tang (吉龍糖); a black tea slushie from the Zhongxiao E Road location of TKK Fried Chicken (頂呱呱); and the apple wild berry and chocolate banana smoothies from the Yangguang Street location of Journey Kaffe (覺旅咖啡).
Under regulations, the businesses can be fined between NT$30,000 and NT$3 million (US$974 and US$97,436).
Enterobacteriaceae are used as indicators to monitor water, ice and food hygiene, the department said.
If levels exceed the standard, it could indicate contamination of some part of the production process, ingredients or packaging, or insufficient personal hygiene among staff, it added.
They propagate easiest at room temperature, and could affect the quality and shelf life of cold foods, the department said.
