Control Yuan President Chen Chu (陳菊) on Tuesday condemned “in the strongest terms” alleged actions taken by her former office director, who was accused of sexually assaulting a film director in 2010.
The film director posted a message on Facebook on Monday accusing a “Mr H” in the Democratic Progressive Party of assaulting her when she was hired to work on a campaign video for a Kaohsiung mayoral candidate.
Told they were going to have a meeting, “Mr H” had a driver take her to a motel, where he told her he could “realize her dreams” if she sometimes let him “have his way,” the woman said, adding that he then tried to hug and grope her.

Based on the description, commenters guessed the man was Hung Chih-kun (洪智坤), then-director of Chen’s office when she was running for re-election as Kaohsiung mayor.
Hung late on Monday wrote an apology on Facebook, saying “it is entirely my fault that I made someone feel bad.”
He added that the most he could do is “sincerely apologize, improve and make up for my mistakes,” as he does not hold any positions now.
Chen in a statement issued by her office on Tuesday said she was shocked after learning about the incident the day before, adding that she feels terrible and guilty that someone hired by her campaign had such an experience.
The incident “was not what Hung called ‘bad feelings,’ but serious sexual assault,” she said. “It is unforgivable.”
