The Pingtung Bluefin Tuna Cultural Festival this year is to feature concerts, folk songs, seafood feasts and guided tours, along with key fob prizes that can be paired with mobile phones to play the soundscape of the Donggang fishing port (東港), the Pingtung County Government said.
The festival — which begins on Saturday and runs to July 2 — is the 23rd edition of the event, which celebrates the region’s tuna fishing tradition, the Pingtung Information and International Affairs Department said.
Novel attractions for the celebrations this year include English-language guided tours along five routes, a group tour for the weekend, several tours during weekdays and light installation art on the township’s seafood row, the department said.
