Charlie Blackmon on Monday homered to cap a six-run fourth inning as the Colorado Rockies ended Cleveland’s nine-game winning streak with an 8-6 victory over the Guardians.
Blackmon drove in four runs and made a sliding catch in foul territory for Colorado, who are 11-6 since an 8-28 start.
The fourth-inning rally ended Cleveland’s longest winning streak since they won an American League record 22 straight from Aug. 24 to Sept. 14, 2017.

Jose Ramirez continued his strong start to the season with two doubles and increased his major league RBI lead to 54 with two driven in. He had a chance for more, but struck out with a runner on in the ninth after Andres Gimenez drove in Tyler Freeman.
“We’ve got our two best hitters up to be the tying runs, even in our first loss,” Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said. “It was a really fun nine-day stretch and we hope to start another one tomorrow.”
The Rockies own the second worst record in the National League, but are 6-1 against the Texas Rangers, the Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland over the past two weeks.
Elsewhere, the Baltimore Orioles cruised to an 11-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox, the Minnesota Twins pipped the Kansas City Royals 6-5, the Toronto Blue Jays outplayed the Chicago White Sox 5-1 and the Cincinnati Reds beat the St Louis Cardinals 3-1.
The Milwaukee Brewers topped the Chicago Cubs 5-1, the Washington Nationals defeated the Atlanta Braves 8-4, the San Francisco Giants dominated the Phillies 8-4, the San Diego Padres survived the Miami Marlins 2-1 and the Seattle Mariners held out for a 3-2 win over the Houston Astros.

Team Taiwan avoided missing the World Baseball Classic (WBC) for the first time by defeating Spain 6-3 in a do-or-die game in Taipei last night.
