Taiwanese table tennis duo Kuo Guan-hong and Hsu Hsien-chia won gold in the U15 boys’ doubles event at the ITTF World Youth Championships in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, on Saturday.
Kuo and Hsu defeated Japan’s Ryuusei Kawakami and Tamito Watanabe 11-6, 12-10, 11-8.
The first game was tied 2-2, but Kuo and Hsu then scored 5 points to widen the gap before sealing the game 11-6.

Early on in the second game, Kuo and Hsu were behind 1-4. The pair then scored seven consecutive points, but made several mistakes, leaving the score tied 10-10.
Fortunately, the Taiwanese duo remained calm and won 12-10.
Kawakami and Watanabe maintained their lead until the score was 8-6.
However, they made some errors, allowing Kuo and Hsu to score 5 points and secure the third game.
