However, she injured her left wrist at the Tainan event, CTi News reported.
The 20-year-old was unable to train properly in the run-up to the Mexico championships and although she had not fully recovered, she was determined to perform well, she said.
Wang thanked her coach, Chen Jia-ling, for constantly encouraging her and helping with her confidence despite the injury.

She told CTi News that she was overjoyed at her performance given it was her final chance to compete at the World Youth Championships.
On the second day of the competition in Mexico, Huang won gold in the combined women’s 49kg category with a total of 172kg from her best clean and jerk lift of 96kg, which gave her silver, and a bronze-medal lift of 76kg in the snatch.
Huang is the junior national record holder in the weight class in all three totals with a snatch of 76kg, and a clean and jerk of 97kg for a combined weight of 173kg.
The Changhua County native beat the US’ Isabella Mia Rodriguez, who lifted a combined 171kg, and Nozomi Abe of Japan, who took bronze with 170kg.
Huang said that weightlifting has made her a better person and thanked her family for their support, the Liberty Times (the Taipei Times’ sister paper) reported.
Lin Ke-hsiu, the principal at Chenggong Senior High School where Huang was a student, said that she is good at many sports and is always smiling.
She practices almost all year round at the school, at her former junior-high school in Shetou Township or at the National Training Center, Lin said.
Huang wrote a message of thanks on Facebook shortly after her wins in Mexico on Thursday last week.
“Thank you to Changhua County Councilor Wang Huei-mei for your support since junior-high school. Thank you to the principal, teachers and coaches for your concern,” she wrote. “I’ll try even harder. Thank you all for your blessings.”
The other Taiwanese women to claim medals were Chiu Yu-ling in the women’s 59kg category and Chen Hsin-ning in the 71kg category.
Both won clean and jerk bronze medals with lifts of 108kg and 115kg respectively.
