Former NBA forward Chris McCullough is returning to Taiwan’s P.League+ to play for the Formosa Taishin Dreamers, the Taichung-based club announced yesterday.
The 28-year-old 2.08m US frontcourt player was picked 29th in the 2015 NBA draft and played a total of 59 games for the Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards between 2015 and 2018. He also helped to lead the San Miguel Beermen to the PBA’s 2019 Commissioner’s Cup championship.
During the 2021-2022 season of the P.League+, McCullough played for the New Taipei Kings, averaging 20.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 blocks in seven games.

He returned to the US for surgery after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament during a game on March 8 last year.
Dreamers general manager Jonathan Han said in a statement that McCullough’s skill on the court is obvious, and the team does not doubt his ability despite the injury.
“He has undergone very hard rehabilitation for a while, and he faced it with a very positive attitude. We all believe that he can come back from the injury with energy, successfully integrate with his teammates and improve the overall aggressiveness of the team,” Han said.
McCullough turned down an offer to play for the Beermen in the East Asia Super League Champions Week from tomorrow to Sunday in Japan, the Philippines’ Sports Interactive Network Web site reported.
“Didn’t sign with anyone. Need to make sure I’m okay and in right shape,” McCullough said on Twitter on Jan. 26.
He added that he was not rushing, as he still has a long career ahead of him and was giving himself five weeks to get in shape.

LIVERPOOL WIN: The 50th Champions League goal by Mohamed Salah helped the leaders of the Premier League to keep their perfect record intact Real Madrid’s big stars on Tuesday turned on the style to revive the Spanish giant’s faltering UEFA Champions League title defense. Galacticos Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham all scored in a thrilling 3-2 win against Serie A leaders Atalanta BC. However, Madrid still had to ride their luck as Mateo Retegui fired over from in front of goal in stoppage-time when handed a golden chance to level the game. It was only Madrid’s third win in the competition’s revamped league phase and leaves the 15-time champions in the unseeded playoff positions in 18th place. “It’s a very important win.
