Qingqing: The Summer Olympics, held every four years, will start on July 26 in Paris. I’m so excited!
Huahua: Are you excited about the Olympics or romantic Paris?
Qingqing: Both. If I had enough money, I’d fly there to attend the opening ceremony, watch the events and explore the beautiful city.
Huahua: If you can afford the high prices, your dream might just come true. But for now, you’ll have to watch the opening broadcast on TV, which saves you a lot of money.
Qingqing: Seriously though, I heard that this year’s main Olympic stadium is the Stade de France. The host country has even changed the track color from the traditional red to purple. It’s so dreamy!
Huahua: Yes, that’s because France is known for its lavender. The purple color reflects this. The organizers also said this color would help spectators see the athletes better on TV and be easier on the eyes.
Qingqing: How considerate of them. I believe this will be an amazing Olympic Games.
Huahua: The last Tokyo Olympics were delayed by a year due to the pandemic and were held without live spectators, which was really unfortunate. But it also means this Olympics will attract even more global attention. Let’s wait and see.

Like people in many other countries, Taiwanese are fond of delicious fried snacks. For example, Spain is known for its churros, and in Taiwan there is a traditional fried dessert made of sticky rice called beh teung guai. The snack consists of sticky rice flour that is mixed with water, kneaded into a dough and shaped into small pieces. Once fried, the sticky rice balls are coated in crushed peanuts and sugar mixture. knead (v.) 揉(麵糰、黏土),捏;捏製;揉捏形成 Beh teung guai is a traditional snack that has been enjoyed by many senior citizens since
