小清：你知道嗎？農曆七月一日是鬼門開的日子。

Xiǎoqīng: Nǐ zhīdào ma? Nónglì qīyuè yīrì shì guǐménkāi de rìzi.
小華：嗯？「鬼門開」是什麼意思呢？
Xiǎohuá: Eh?! `Guǐmén kāi’shì shénme yìsi ne?
小清：民間傳統相信農曆七月鬼魂可以來到陽間，七月一日就是鬼門打開的日子。
Xiǎoqīng: Mínjiān chuántǒng xiāngxìn nónglì qīyuè guǐhún kěyǐ láidào yángjiān, qīyuè yīrì jiùshì guǐmén dǎkāi de rìzi.
小華：那鬼魂來到陽間要做什麼呢？
Xiǎohuá: Nà guǐhún láidào yángjiān yào zuò shénme ne?
小清：可能就是找找美食，看看電影，享受一下人間的樂趣吧！只是我們最好不要碰到好兄弟。
Xiǎoqīng: Kěnéng jiùshì zhǎozhǎo měishí, kàn kàn diànyǐng, xiǎngshòu yīxià rénjiān de lèqù ba! Zhǐshì wǒmen zuìhǎo búyào pèngdào hǎoxiōngdì.
小華：「好兄弟」是誰啊？
Xiǎohuá: `Hǎoxiōngdì’shì sheí a?
小清：好兄弟就是鬼魂，因為直接說「鬼」不太尊敬，所以要稱呼他們好兄弟。
Xiǎoqīng: Hǎoxiōngdì jiùshì guǐhún, yīnwèi zhíjiē shuō `guǐ’btúài zūnjìng, suǒyǐ yào chēnghu tāmen hǎoxiōngdì.
小華：了解了！希望好兄弟度假愉快。
Xiǎohuá: Liǎojiěle! Xīwàng hǎoxiōngdì dùjià yúkuài.
翻譯 Translation
Xiaoqing: Did you know? The first day of the seventh lunar month is when the “Ghost Gate” opens.
Xiaohua: What do you mean “the Ghost Gate opens”?
Xiaoqing: According to folklore, during the seventh lunar month, the spirits can come to the mortal realm, and the first day of the month is when the Ghost Gate opens.
Xiaohua: What do the spirits do when they come to the mortal realm?
Xiaoqing: They might be looking for delicious food, watching movies, and enjoying some earthly pleasures! But it’s best for us not to encounter the “good brothers.”
Xiaohua: Who are the “good brothers” you’re talking about?
Xiaoqing: The “good brothers” refers to the spirits. Because calling them “ghosts” directly is not very respectful, we address them as good brothers.
Xiaohua: I see! I hope the good brothers have a pleasant vacation.
