More and more countries are gradually lifting lockdowns

除了禁令與限制的解除外,限制的「鬆綁」也有許多動詞可用,如to loosen/ease/relax the lockdown restrictions(放寬限制)。
The prime minister has unveiled the three-step plan to ease coronavirus restrictions.
I’m also going to the train station. Do you need a lift?
The governments of Germany and Spain have made mask-wearing compulsory on public transport.
Statistics is not a compulsory subject in the Foreign Language Department.
A health examination is obligatory/mandatory/compulsory before employees start working.
Since 2019, wearing a helmet on all motorized vehicles including electric scooters is obligatory/mandatory/compulsory in California.
When Mr McAllen lost South Carolina, he at first refused to make the obligatory congratulatory call to Ms Anderson.
Shanghai Disney Resort shuts down due to the COVID resurgence.
The Department of Health warned that flu cases have spiked across the state.
1. The research suggested __________ only 69 percent of employees began the compulsory online courses, and the non-completion rate was as high as 75 percent.
(A) if
(B) that
(C) when
(D) with
2. High-waisted jeans, trendy in the 1980s, are having a __________ in popularity among the youth today.
(A) reverse
(B) disparity
(C) resurgence
(D) confirmation

Bilingual Story is a fictionalized account. Echo pulled out a worn and tattered shoe box under father’s large oak desk. “Mariko, what should we do with these family photos?” Mariko stared at the old box with a slightly hurt expression, and then blankly at the photos. “Throw them in the garbage pile. . . along with that old, ratty box,” she murmured. She resented that her father had not cared enough to find a nicer home for the family photos. “Father never really cared about me anyway.” Echo’s emotion sensor detected sorrow. ”Mariko, that is
In the vast landscapes of Australia, a unique and charming creature roams — the “wombat.” These round, adorable animals possess surprising abilities and fascinating traits that never fail to amaze. ˇ What do you think of the movie? χ How do you like the movie? χ How do you think of the movie? 註︰What do you think of = What is your opinion of。 think 的受詞是 what,不能用 how。 2. ˇ Which singer do you think is the best? χ Do you think which singer is the best? 註︰英語中 which singer 似乎是 do you think 的受詞,實則 do you think 是插入語,其他例子如下: 你以為他喜歡誰?
