Azalea International Folk Fair from Georgia, USA, is doing charity work in Taiwan’s remote areas. Three years ago, representatives from the Azalea International Folk Fair and Valdosta State University engaged in an international exchange at Puli Junior High School. The exchange offered local students an opportunity to use their English language skills while the American university students lived with local families to come in direct contact with local culture. Students have participated actively, but in the past two years, the event did not take place due to insufficient funds. This year, however, the US part received an injection of funds and the activity was resumed.
Several students and teachers from Valdosta State University instructed almost 80 recently graduated elementary school and high school students in a five-day activity. A combination of classes in literature, plays, creativity, recital, singing and dancing allowed students to experience an English-learning environment outside the classroom. The results of the activities were presented last Friday evening at the Puli High School stadium.

School president Chuan Cheng-wen thanked Azalea International Folk Fair for its charitable services and said that all the educational resources that were used during the activities, such as costumes, props and plays, were donated to the school by the folk fair so that teachers at the school can continue to use them.

校長全正文表示，感謝喬治亞州國際民俗文化協會的公益服務，這次英語夏令營的服裝、道具、劇本等教學資源，協會也全部捐給埔里國中，日後供校內教師運用。
