Fuwan Villa general manager Hsu Hua-jen has a soft spot for food ingredients. With a master’s degree from the Graduate Institute of Hospitality Management in Greater Kaohsiung, he has been studying how to add chocolate to food. He is adding a unique chocolate flavor to Donggang seafood, which has now won him the Taiwan One Town, One Product (OTOP) Enterprise Award. This makes Fuwan Villa the only leisure farm in the nation to have won the OTOP award, which is issued by the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration (SMEA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Yao Chih-wang, deputy director of the Pingtung County Government Agriculture Department, says the SMEA selects outstanding businesses from various industries for the OTOP award every year in the hope that it will inspire business owners to take a local approach to creating a specialty for every town based on local specialties.
Hsu says that in addition to his creative cherry blossom shrimp chocolate, he has now added 80 percent pure chocolate and many kinds of classic and innovative chocolates. He has even developed a full creative chocolate meal without a menu, by, for example, combining chocolate spare ribs or white chocolate cod with all-local, seasonal ingredients, and says he hopes to continue to add new special features to Pingtung agricultural products.

東港福灣莊園的執行長許華仁對食材情有獨鍾，擁有高雄餐飲大學餐旅管理碩士學歷，研究如何讓巧克力入菜，現在佐以東港海產的巧克力餐風味獨特，獲得經濟部中小企業處頒發「台灣OTOP優質企業獎」，是全國唯一得獎的休閒農莊。
屏東縣農業副處長姚志旺指出，經濟部中小企業處每年都會從各行各業中遴選優質企業，OTOP(One Town One Product) 就是希望業者從地方特產出發，以在地精神打造「一鄉一特產」。
許華仁強調，在原有的創意產品櫻花蝦巧克力外，目前增加了百分之八十的高純度生巧克力及多款經典、創意巧克力，甚至開發出無菜單巧克力創作全餐，如搭配巧克力豬肋排或是白巧克力鱈魚等，並全部使用「在地當季」食材，期待為屏東的農產品再添新特色。
