Taipei 101 is inviting people to register for an opportunity to camp out near the top of the nation’s tallest skyscraper this summer.
It has openings for 160 people to participate in the activity on each of the six weekends from July 23 to Aug. 28, Michael Liu (劉家豪), a spokesman for the company that runs the skyscraper, said on Monday.
Those participating in the activity will be able to gaze at stars from the 93rd floor with specialist guides, camp on the building’s 89th floor in its indoor observatory and watch the sun rise on Sunday morning, Liu said.
The organizer will provide night snacks, breakfast, a sleeping bag, a toiletry kit and a group photograph to each participant, he said.
Only Taiwanese are eligible to participate, but the activity might be opened to overseas visitors if it receives positive feedback from the participants, Liu said.
The cost will be NT$2,200 per person and NT$1,500 for children under six, but not younger than three.
Liu said Taipei 101, which started operating 10 years ago, is holding the camping activity for the first time this year.
