A cold air mass from the continent is expected to arrive tomorrow, lowering the mercury to 12oC, the Central Weather Bureau said yesterday.
The bureau said the effect of the cold air mass is expected to be strongest on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures in northern and central areas may drop to 10oC, whereas temperatures in the south may slide to 14oC.
The front will also bring rain to the nation, the bureau said. Chances of rain are high in the north and northeast regions. Rain may also occur in the central and southern Taiwan, it said.
Fog may appear on the west coast as well as in Kinmen and Matsu until tomorrow, it said.

A woman who allegedly attacked a high-school student with a utility knife, injuring his face, on a Taipei metro train late on Friday has been transferred to prosecutors, police said yesterday.
