Taiwan Beer continued its winning streak at the Hualien Probation Cup with a 91-82 victory over the Yulon Luxgens in overtime at the Hualien County Sports Complex on Saturday for a perfect 4-0 record.
The win propelled the two-time SBL champs into the title game against China’s Shanxi Zhongyu, who easily handled South Korea’s Kyung Hee University 94-76 in the other semi-final.
Bench depth made the difference in the local showdown as the Beer crew showed off their reserve power by outlasting the Luxgens in overtime.

It not only avoided what would have been an embarrassing loss — Beer led the game by as many as 17 points in the second half before allowing the Luxgens to pull off a 17-0 run in the final quarter — but sent the men in green into the final.
Chen Shih-nian led Taiwan Beer with a team-high 21 points, while the returned Yulon team icon Chen “Airman” Hsin-an was not enough to fend off a spirited brew crew.
