Lin, who suffered from dehydration at last week’s tour event in Brunei, credited his brother with his fine first-round showing.
“I made 25 putts today which is great and a big relief compared to last week when I wasn’t that steady and passed out due to dehydration,” said the 34-year-old Lin, who won the Asian Tour International in Thailand in March.
“My brother gave me a useful tip on Tuesday. He told me to adopt a faster motion on my putting so I won’t lose my line on the green which I did and it paid off,” he said.

Luis Diaz starred on Sunday as Liverpool routed archrivals Manchester United 3-0 to extend their perfect start under new manager Arne Slot, while Chelsea suffered fresh frustration in a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace. Hired from Feyenoord to succeed Juergen Klopp in the close-season, Slot has overseen three successive wins in a flying start to the new era at Liverpool.
