Volley girls beat Sri Lanka
Taiwan's women's youth volleyball team scored its first victory in Kamphaeng Phet, Thailand, on Tuesday, defeating Sri Lanka at the Sixth Asian Girls Youth Volleyball Championship.
After losing to the favored Japanese squad in their first match on Monday, Taiwan came back on Tuesday to steamroll their way to a 1-1 record with a 25-4, 25-11, 25-8 victory.
Eight teams are competing in the double-elimination tournament -- Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka and Australia.
The top three teams will qualify to compete in the world competition scheduled for July.
