    Police bust ecstasy party at Hyatt

    More than 40 alleged drug users are temporarily detained at the Taipei City Police Department's Hsinyi Precinct. All of them were arrested yesterday at an party held in a hotel room of the Grand Hyatt Taipei.

    Taiwanese held by China comes home

    The Taiwan Falun Dafa Institute launched a round-the-island bicycle journey to raise awareness about the detention of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese government. The institute said yesterday that large numbers of Chinese practitioners are still in detention.

    Soyuz landing as smooth as silk

    A Russian Soyuz TMA-2 capsule lands safely with Yuri Malenchenko of Russia, Edward Lu of the US and Pedro Duque of Spain aboard near Arkalyk, Kazakhstan, yesterday.     Miami beats San Diego out in Arizona

    Dolphin quarterback Brian Griese in his first start for Miami completed 20 of 29 passes against the Chargers for a total of a 192 yards in the air, and three touchdowns, at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. The game was moved to Arizona because of a rash of wildfires in the San Diego area where the game was originally scheduled to be held.
