Azalea International Folk Fair from Georgia, USA, is doing charity work in Taiwan’s remote areas. On Thursday last week, the organization conducted an English language summer camp activity at National Puli Junior High School in Puli Township in Nantou County. American university students, teachers and students interacted in a relaxed atmosphere to create an English stage show combining literature, plays, singing and dancing as they used a diversity of ways to encourage students to speak English.
Three years ago, representatives from the Azalea International Folk Fair and Valdosta State University engaged in an international exchange at Puli Junior High School. The exchange offered local students an opportunity to use their English language skills while the American university students lived with local families to come in direct contact with local culture. Students have participated actively, but in the past two years, the event did not take place due to insufficient funds. This year, however, the US part received an injection of funds and the activity was resumed.
Several students and teachers from Valdosta State University instructed almost 80 recently graduated elementary school and high school students in a five-day activity. A combination of classes in literature, plays, creativity, recital, singing and dancing allowed students to experience an English-learning environment outside the classroom. The results of the activities were presented last Friday evening at the Puli High School stadium.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced new regulations requiring that all mobile phones sold in the United States be compatible with hearing aids. These rules aim to expand the range of options available to individuals with hearing loss, enabling them to choose devices that best suit their needs. The new plan includes requirements for universal Bluetooth connectivity. This means mobile phone manufacturers cannot limit their phones to interact only with specific devices. ✔ I stayed in bed for three days. ✔ I kept to my bed for three days. χ I slept in my bed for three days. Usually we sleep eight hours a day. 「因病臥床」應用 to stay in bed 或 to keep to one’s bed. 2. ✔ Peter is liable to colds (或to catch cold). ✔ Peter is subject to colds. χ Peter is easy to catch cold. English is easy to learn. 或 It is easy to learn English.,但不可以說 I am easy to learn English.。 另外,可以說 “It is easy to misuse the article.”
